How to Use the Crossroads Design Service
Crossroads Cabinetry makes submission easy with easy step by step instructions. Follow the steps below to design the kitchen of your dreams. The steps below include completed worksheets, instructions and step by step video tutorials for the best possible results.
Gather the information requested below in steps 1 through 6 and complete the Project Summary Worksheet and Floor Plan Grid as instructed. Upon completion, mail, fax or email the completed items and any corresponding items to Crossroads.
Measure your wall dimensions, record soffit and Crown Molding information

  • Measure every wall from side to side and notate your wall widths on the Floor Grid. Also, assign a wall number to each wall on the drawing.
  • Next, measure the ceiling height and write it below the Wall measurements on the Project Summary Worksheet.
  • If your wall has soffits please check the box to notate whether your cabinets will extend to the soffits. Next we need to determine if your cabinets will include crown molding. Please answer yes or no on your Project Summary Worksheet worksheet.

Measure Window Openings

  • Next you’ll need to measure your windows. It is important that your height and width measurements include the trim, we also need the window sill width and the window or sill distance from the floor.
  • Record your window measurements on the Project Summary worksheet. On your Floor Plan Grid, please specify: the opening width, and distance from the wall you are measuring from.

Measure Door Openings

 For this step you will measure all of your Doors and Doorways, for Doors please include the trim in your measurements.

On your Floor Plan Grid drawing, please specify: the opening width, and distance from the wall you are measuring from. Record the door/doorway width and height on the Project Summary worksheet.

Measure Existing Utility Connections

 During this step you will determine and record any utility connections that will affect the placement of your new cabinets. Go thru your project area and record any utility connections such as water pipes (plumbing), electrical outlets, gas connections, and air vents (HVAC). For these items, you will need to measure and record the center line to right wall, center line to left wall, and the center line from the floor

Measure and Specify Appliances

We’re almost there, next we need to determine the dimensions of your new or existing kitchen appliances.

This involves measuring and recording: the make and model of each appliance, height, width, depth and additional information on the Project Summary worksheet. Additionally you will note the distance from the wall on the Project Summary and draw a square representing the appliance on the Floor Plan grid.

 Now let’s have some fun! This is where you get to customize your kitchen with the options to suit your style.

Choose from the desired options on your Project Summary Worksheet.

Some of your options include knife blocks, spice racks, lazy susans and corbels. You do not have to specify where to place these items as our expert designer will place in the appropriate area.
